Previously we have discussed some words that will help you speak like native Indonesian. In this eight episode of "How to Speak Like Native Indonesian" we still have more words to learn. The words “kosong” and “kemahalan” will be discussed here. Check the following examples to see the sentences example:
Betul, sebenarnya ada model lain yang aku suka, tetapi sepatu itu kosong.
That’s right, actually there is another design that I like, but that one is unavailable.
Wah, harga sepatu itu kemahalan untukku.
Wow, that’s too expensive for me.
From those examples, you see that “kosong” is used to express something that is not available, but the real translation for “kosong” is actually empty. You can use the word “kosong" for both contexts!
“Kemahalan” on the other hand means too expensive. Make sure you watch this video to see a conversation which uses these words!
