In this series you will discover several particles and idioms that are commonly used by Indonesians. This series will help you to be able to speak as native Indonesians do.
This first episode will introduce you to the particle “kok” and idiom “cuci mata”. Are you curious about these? Let’s see how these particle and idiom work in sentences below:
Kok kamu sudah pulang? Kamu pergi ke mal untuk membeli kemeja, kan?
Why are you at home already? You went to the mall to buy shirts, right?
Ya, tetapi kemeja yang mau aku beli tidak ada di sana, sehingga aku hanya cuci mata. Kemeja itu akan tersedia lagi minggu depan.
Yes, but the shirt that I was looking for was not there, that’s why I just spent time for window shopping. That shirt will be available next week.
