HOW TO SPEAK LIKE NATIVE INDONESIAN | “SEBENTAR & LUMAYAN”

After having learned several particles and idioms in Bahasa Indonesia, we still have another way to help you speak like native Indonesian. In this episode, we will show you words that are usually used by Indonesians which are “sebentar” and “lumayan”. Understanding these words will boost your confidence in speaking Bahasa Indonesia. Let’s have a look to these following examples:


Dia belajar bahasa Indonesia sejak bulan lalu dan sekarang dia sudah lumayan lancar menggunakannya.

He studied Indonesian since last month and now he is quite fluent in using it.


Harga makanan di restoran itu lumayan mahal.

The price of food in that restaurant is quite expensive.

Baiklah. Sebentar ya, aku ambilkan makanan ringan.

Alright. Please wait a minute, let me grab a snack.


Aku masih sibuk sekali dan belum sempat mengerjakan tugas itu, sebentar ya.

I'm still very busy, and haven't had time to do that task, please wait a minute.
