Did you know that one of the traditions in Indonesia was born from a love story? I bet you don’t.
So this is a story of Pasola, a traditional war game from Sumba. According to the locals, this tradition was made from a love story of a beautiful widow.
In short, the beautiful widow, named Rabu Kaba had a love affair with a young man from another village, Kodi Village. Of course, this leads to an inevitable dispute, knowing that the widow was once a married woman, who her husband was assumed dead for not coming back from his travel to the southern area of East Sumba beach.
To prevent a conflict, the young man named Teda Gaiparona, had to replace the dowries that were received by Rabu Kaba. And only then they could hold a marriage.
Pasola was made by Teda Gaiparona who advises citizens to carry out a festival.
